Dr Claire Council is a Senior Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise (KEE) Fellow, based in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southampton. She works closely with researchers across the school to support collaboration and commercialisation activities and develop impact from their research.

Biography
Claire received a BSc double honours degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Southampton in 2001. She worked as a Peptide Chemist, initially at the University of Southampton, and then in a commercial company. She was awarded an industry-based PhD from University of Surrey in 2013, on the synthesis and molecular modelling of non-natural peptide bonds in synthetic proteins.
Claire re-joined the University of Southampton in 2018 as a Programme Manager in the School of Chemistry, managing an InnovateUK-funded early-stage translation project. In 2020 she worked for the NIHR Journal’s Library as a Research Manager, before moving in 2021 to her current role in the School of Physics and Astronomy.
