Yufeng Xie is a postgraduate research student based in Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton.
Yufeng Xie’s research focuses on financial accounting in general and corporate governance and external auditing in particular.
Yufeng Xie’s thesis utilises a systematic review of the literature regarding related party transactions from corporate governance, institutional environment and corporate performance perspectives. In the second paper, she focuses on external auditing of opportunistic activities in the form of related party transactions in particular. Specifically, she emphasises how narcissistic personalities of an audit partner helps discourage clients from tunneling and manipulating via transactions with related parties.

Yufeng Xie has served as a Teaching Assistant in MANG2015 Financial Management and as a Demonstrator in the Bloomberg Introductory and Intermediate Sessions in FinLab.
Yufeng Xie works as a Data Analysis tutor to support students with queries on data collection and analysis throughout their dissertation. She joined as a Project Officer in the Assessment and Feedback Project in the Educational Development Office (EDO) in 2022. She presented her paper “Related Party Transactions: A Systematic Review of Corporate Governance, Institutional Environment and Corporate Performance Literature” in the Centre for Research in Accounting Accountability and Governance (CRAAG) seminar in Southampton Business School in March 2022.
