About
Jack Tyson is an electronic engineer from England. He completed both his undergraduate honours and PhD studies at the University of Southampton, where he currently works as a Research Fellow. Jack’s PhD focussed on the optical anti-reflectance of monocrystalline silicon photovoltaics when applied with hybrid micro-/nano-scale surface texturing. In 2019, he won the IET Innovation Award for Model-based Engineering for his work on the accurate computational modelling of these structures, and became a member of the panel of expert judges for the IET in 2020.
Jack is a member of the Institute of Physics (IOP) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and is a reviewer for the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS).
