Current research
Michael's current project aims to tackle nitrogen cycling processes in an active serpentinising system, an analogue for early Earth using the Samail Ophiolite in Oman. This will be accomplished using DNA and RNA sequencing to look at microbial community compositon and function. This will be combined with 15N labelled experiments to absoerve the speciation of nitrogen between organic and inorganic forms.
