Dr Daria Semochkina is a Research Fellow at the Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute (S3RI) and Mathematical Sciences. Her research interests are in emulation methods, emulation-based optimisation, uncertainty quantification and design of experiments.
Dr Daria Semochkina's research interests are mainly in computational methods in Bayesian statistics. In particular, Daria studies methods that are based on creating and using surrogate models for computationally intensive computer models. This includes building emulators and using those emulators for Bayesian optimisation problems. More generally, Daria has an interest in uncertainty propagation and quantification.

Dr Daria Semochkina joined the University in 2018 as a Research Fellow in Computational Engineering. In 2021 Daria joined the Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute as a Research Fellow in Statistics. Before joining the University, Daria did a PhD in Statistics at the University of Limerick. Daria's undergrad degree is in pure maths from the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
