About

I am currently a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, within the Signal Processing, Audio and Hearing (SPAH) Group of the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR). Between 2021 and 2023, I am working with Prof Filippo M Fazi and Prof Philip Nelson on topics related to microphone array processing, acoustic scattering identification & quantification, and the capture + rendering via headphones  of 3D audio scenes.

In October 2021, I completed a PhD at the same University, within the same research group, under the supervision of Prof Stephen J Elliott and Dr Jordan Cheer. This involved the investigation of active control strategies for 3D acoustic scattering. My research was based on the orthogonal decomposition of the involved acoustic quantities into series of spherical harmonic components, and on taking advantage of this modal representation in active control algorithms.

I have graduated with a First Class Honors MEng in Acoustical Engineering from the same university, in 2015. Throughout this degree I undertook research projects such as: "Realization of a multi-channel audio system" (individual), "Maritime Vessel Vibration Survey Tool" (group design), and "MATLAB programming for high intensity noise exposure rig" (internship).

My research interests are: mathematical modelling and algorithms, physical acoustics, spatial audio, signal processing, active control of sound and vibration, acoustic metamaterials.
