Research interests

  • (1) Construction such as supply of all facilities regarding container ports: How much and how timely the facilities should be supplied considering the port's role and feature, demand and supply phenomena, What facilities are needed such as terminals, hinterlands, and near port transportation system which is constituted by road, rail, etc
  • (2) Operation of container terminals: enhancing the productivity of ports, the operating structure of the port which means how the governance of port is and how many terminals are operated in the port, and how much the players make synergy effects
  • (3) Global container logistics in maritime focused on transshipment network in the area of North East Asia: trends and main flows as time goes by especially before and after the Pandemic

Studying how the recent key events, the trade war between the U.S. and China, and the pandemic, affected the activities of transhipment hub port, especially focused on a case study for the port of Busan.
