About

Yadira is a Lecturer in Creative Computing. Her practice bridges technology, arts and science.

Her research foregrounds community expertise and lived experiences in co-designing technologies and technological sovereignty, working primarily with and along rural and Indigenous communities in Mexico. Current projects include Tecnomilpa, a collective building community-led technology, such as developing solar powered mesh networks for rural connectivity along her community and neighbouring communities.

Her teaching brings critical computing perspectives with practical programming skills and building for low-power computing needs and telecommunications technologies.
