About

Elspeth is an occupational therapist and a SCDTP Doctoral Candidate in Education at the University of Southampton.
Her thesis combines a feminist relational perspective and a qualitative case study methodology. Working in collaboration with students with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities within the context of their school, she explored how occupational engagement may facilitate the experience and expression of belonging. Elspeth is currently completing a research internship as the Researcher in Residence at Oily Cart Sensory Theatre where she has worked closely with parents, carers and young audience members to evaluate their latest ‘At Home’ theatre show, collaboratively designing and facilitating sensory evaluation sessions.
