Current research
My project is fiber optic sensing for acoustic leak detection in buried pipelines. Leak noise is detected by determining the relative change in fiber length segments through the Rayleigh backscattering mechanism of the fiber. The project will explore the possibility of using dark fibers near water pipelines to detect leaks.
