We envision leading the transition towards an all‑electric world, driving change across the entire energy landscape from sustainable power generation to the electrification and AI‑enhancement of everyday energy use.

The Centre for Research in All-electric Future Technologies (CRAFT) investigates the full energy chain of electricity, from its generation and distribution to its end‑use. Our research focuses on sustainable power generation, smart grids, sector‑wide electrification, and advancing energy sustainability through digitalisation and AI‑driven solutions.

Stratis Batzelis
Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Eng
My research focuses on how we can integrate massive amounts of renewable energy into the electric grid while keeping it stable and reliable.
Sebastian Stein
Professor
I am excited about how AI systems can help us switch to more electrified and sustainable living, for example, by managing heating or electric vehicle charging according to our needs.
Bahareh Zaghari
Lecturer
My research develops advanced sensors for safety-critical aerospace systems, enabling reliable, prescriptive monitoring of electrified aircraft components.
