Consultancy requests

We are open to consultancy requests from councils and partner organisations seeking tailored, evidence-informed support.

Members of the People, Property, Community research centre have worked with worked with local authorities on a range of projects including:

acting as Expert Advisors to support council scrutiny of housing service delivery,
reviewing enforcement policy and practices and making recommendations in preparation for the Renters Rights Act 2025,
evaluating the effectiveness of HMO schemes,
supporting the development of research informed housing policies and strategies e.g. private sector housing strategies, empty homes plans,
supporting officers to develop and implement HMO licencing schemes,
presenting evidence on the reality of the private rented sector to senior management of councils,
providing training and advice on aspects of private sector housing law to officers, councillors, and policy makers,

We offer expertise across policy design, evidence gathering and strategic development, and are open to consultancy requests from councils and partner organisations seeking tailored, evidence-informed support.
