Research interests

Current research is focussed on generalising some of the ideas developed in my 2002 and 2011 books with Stephen Ward (risk efficiency for example), exploring some areas in more detail (discounting cash flows and the 'value of an avoided fatality' ’for example), and understanding the gap between 'common practice' and 'best practice', including the role of professional guidelines. Book in progress.
