Michael is a PhD student researching road safety at the University of Southampton. His research focuses on analysing thre factors which are associated with pedestrian and cyclist crash frequency with a view to understanding how to make these travel modes safer for all road users.

Michael studied for a BEng in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Exeter, graduating in 2016. He went on to work for Devon County Council as a Graduate Transport Planner while studying an MSc in Transport Planning and Engineering part time at the University of Southampton which he completed in 2020. In May 2021 he began studying for a PhD in Engineering from Southampton.
