Ms. Carolina Pallanez is a Postgraduate Researcher within Applied Linguistics at the University of Southampton.

The University of Southampton has opened my perspective on research. Therefore, it has helped me to become even more critical about my area of expertise.

I hold a BA in English Language Teaching, and a Master’s degree on Competency-Based Education. I am currently studying for my Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics at the University of Southampton. Moreover, I have been an ELT and ESL professor at the foreign language department at the University of Sonora in Mexico.

Research interests

My main research interests are: assessment, education, competency-based education, language ideologies, curriculum design. language policy and critical discourse analysis.
