Side interests:
- Archaean rocks and onset of subduction tectonics
Research project: Development of reliable geochemical proxies to distinguish significantly mineralized sedimentary basins
My primary research interests lie in the processes and controls on mineral deposit formation. In particular, I am focusing on the application of mineral chemistry in detecting mineral systems at depth. Increasing demand for copper by industry and its use in renewable technologies requires further exploration and the identification of new deposits not readily exposed at the surface.
Owing to my MSci project, I am interested in both sedimentary systems and volcanic systems. Additionally, due to the age of the rocks studied, I have an interest in the events within the Archaean eon, especially the onset of subduction tectonics.
