Specialism: Marine Phytoplankton Ecology and Biogeochemistry

  1. The role of phytoplankton in carbon and nutrient cycling in estuaries, coastal seas and oceanic environments.
  2. Water quality studies in estuaries and coastal waters.
  3. Studies on marine harmful microalgae in culture and coastal waters
  4. Influence of trace metals and atmospheric dust inputs on phytoplankton growth in oceanic surface waters
  5. Cell death processes including apoptosis in microalgae.
