Tom received his master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Bath in 2018. During his time there he completed his master research project under the supervision of Professor Andrew Burrows. His research concerned the development of post-synthetic modification research's within metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Tom also spent a year at EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Ltd while studying at Bath.
In 2018, Tom moved to the department of Chemistry at the University of Southampton to carry out his post graduate research under the supervision of Dr Darren Bradshaw. Here, Tom has combined his knowledge of the nuclear energy sector with his evergrowing experience in porous materials chemistry to complete his PhD research regarding adsorbents for nuclear waste clean-up.
