Biography
I am a Lecturer in Sociolinguistics and teach modules on Language and Society in the German Speaking world, Language and the City and Language Power and Institutions.
My research interests centre around language and politics. I have published on comparative political discourse analysis and ‘populist discourses.
As well as my current teaching and research responsibilities, I am currently Director of Programmes for the Undergraduate Degrees in Modern Languages and Linguistics. I am also the Treasurer of DiscourseNet, an international association for Discourse Studies and an Associate Editor of Humanities & Social Sciences Communications and the Palgrave book series Postdisciplinary Studies in Discourse.
