Dr Yizhen Lu is a Lecturer in the Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour Department at Southampton Business School.
Her research specialises in employee well-being, political correctness, and phenemon-related research. She holds a PhD in Management from the National University of Singapore and an MSc in Organizational Psychology from City, University of London. Prior to her appointment at the University of Southampton, Dr. Lu has taught across prestigious institutions—including ESSEC Business School, National University of Singapore and James Cook University with consistently outstanding student evaluations.
Her research, published in top-tier journals like the Academy of Management Journal and Frontiers in Psychology, examines workplace phenomena through interdisciplinary lenses, blending psychology and HRM. Dr. Lu actively engages with global academic communities through different conferences (Academy of Management Annual Meeting, European Association of Work and Organisational Psychology, University Form for Human Resource Development and the British Academy of Management). She is currently an Associate Editor for Human Resource Development Quarterly and helped with adhoc reviewing for Journal of Global Mobility.
She holds a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is interested in designing interactive, cross-disciplinary curricula to ensure her teaching futureproofs her students.
