Imali Manikarachchige is a Leverhulme Trust's Intelligent Oceans Doctoral Researcher with professional experience as an educator and a researcher in the field of marine and maritime affairs. Her area of specialization extends to Marine Sciences, Coastal Communities, Marine Environment Management, Ocean Governance, and Sustainable Blue Economy. Her research interests are focused on understanding the dynamics of Oceans as socio-ecological systems and how to adopt a systems approach to tackle sustainability issues. She has been involved in scholarships, fellowships, and internships with international organizations, including the International Maritime Organization, East-West Centre, and World Ocean Council.
