Stephen recently joined the University of Southampton as a Teaching Fellow in the Education School. He teaches on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. Stephen also supervises students who are completing dissertations as part of the MSc Education programme.
Alongside his teaching responsibilities, Stephen is engaged in a range of research activities. He previously served as the Principal Investigator of the Sustainable Careers Project while at the University of Edinburgh. Stephen is presently working with colleagues in Southampton Education School on a project that seeks to examine how AI tools are contributing to and challenging teachers’ research-informed practice. Stephen's personal research interests include topics such as the artistry of teaching, conceptions of teaching and education in the context of a rapidly changing world of work, and the implications of technological advances for teaching.
