PhD opportunities

We offer PhD projects in a variety of topics in Skin Sensing Research.

Many of our PhD projects are interdisciplinary, with corporate or government sponsors.

Industry funded projects often provide the opportunity to work at the company’s premises to expand your skills and knowledge. Our postgraduate students are highly sought after by other universities, business, and industry.

Our main reresearch themes are:

  • aetiology of skin and soft tissue damage from mechanical and thermal interactions
  • human thermoregulation and sensory function in health and disease
  • medical device innovation, from healthcare to consumer products
  • wearable technologies to promote health and wellbeing across the life course
