I found that lecturers and University staff eased any fears or anxieties that I had by giving fantastic support. There are plenty of opportunities to speak with personal tutors and lecturers, and both students and staff are friendly and approachable

How do you rate the study facilities at the University?
The study facilities are excellent. From the huge Hartley library, to quiet study rooms or areas in most buildings, there is ample opportunity to find a quiet spot to focus on work. There are also plenty of social spaces, where I can chat with friends and relax.

What are you enjoying most about your course?
My course is extremely interesting, and the lectures are stimulating and easy to follow. I like that the lecturers are helpful with any questions, and are happy to recommend any further readings or information, which can further improve my knowledge around the subject. Doing my degree at this university has allowed me to choose modules outside of my core subject area. For example, my year 3 options also include modules on business skills and management of risk and uncertainty. I feel that having the opportunity to also learn alternative areas can help towards a wider variety of transferable skills and better employability. What is the city of Southampton like to live in?
Southampton has always been my home town. It has a great student nightlife for those people who enjoy a night out, dancing and socialising with friends. There are many restaurants with a variety of different cuisines on offer. There is also a new modern cinema, a tenpin bowling alley, ice-cream parlours, as well as a sea museum and Art gallery. With plenty of bus routes and accessibility into Southampton city centre, there is plenty for students to do, no matter what their interests are.
