A group of young people paddleboarding on a river on a sunny day

Stand up paddleboarding is fun, safe and gives you a way to quietly explore the local tree lined waterways.

You'll first take part in a 60 minute session covering water safety and basic paddleboarding lessons. You'll then join a small group that one of our experienced guides will take out onto the River Itchen, a tranquil and protected waterway.

You'll use the second hour of the session to practice your technique and see some of the abundant wildlife. There are options to paddle to the Woodmill, explore the freshwater area, or paddle the tidal side of the river instead.

You must:

  • be able to swim at least 25 metres
  • wear a buoyancy aid (provided)
  • complete our Medical consent form before you attend
  • be at least 8 years old
  • have an adult on the water with you if you are under 11

Scheduled sessions

We may cancel the session if the weather is unsafe or if we are short of staff (due to illness, for example). We will let you know as possible and offer you a full refund or the chance to reschedule.
