About the project

Applications are invited for a PhD studentship funded by the National Grid to conduct research at the Tony Davies High Voltage Laboratory on subjects related to transmission of electrical energy, renewable energy generation and electrical insulation materials.

To support your application, examples of current electrical engineering research directions are listed on our Electrical power engineering research group page.

Your responsibilities will include defining your research plan, reviewing literature and conducting independent research, reporting progress and disseminating results in high-impact journals, conferences and other gatherings. You will be based at Highfield campus, but you may also travel occasionally to present your results at national and international conferences and meetings.
