Dr Huan Yu is a Lecturer in Business Analytics within Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton. Huan is also the seminar organiser for CORMSIS (Centre for Operational Research, Management Science and Information System) at the University of Southampton.

Huan’s research interests are in the broad area of management science and operational research. Currently Huan is also interested in the field of credit risk and credit scoring. She uses various business analytics methodologies, including robust optimization, reinforcement learning and econometric tools, to help companies make the better prediction on customer behaviour and better decision-making on pricing, assortment, order and inventory.
Huan is currently teaching the postgraduate module Credit Risk & Data Analytics and is partly involved in teaching on the MBA module Deep Analytics & Big Data.
She has taught several Data Analytics related modules previously, such as Multivariate Statistics for Data Mining, Credit Scoring & Data Mining, Text Mining and Social Network Analytics.
Huan joined the Southampton Business School as a Lecturer in September 2019.
Before Huan joined the University of Southampton, she completed her PhD in Management Science and Engineering from the School of Management at the University of Science and Technology of China in May 2019.
During her PhD, she was also a Visiting Researcher at IESEG School of Management in 2014-2016 and National University of Singapore in 2018.
Prior to her PhD studies, Huan worked in Sinograin from 2009-2013.
