Lead researcher

Professor Delphine Boche

Professor of Neuroimmunopathology

Research interests

  • Delphine serves on a range of neuroscience research projects focusing on neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration.
  • Her main research interest is to develop a greater understanding of the role of neuroinflammation in relation with ageing, neurological diseases and systemic inflammation, using the approaches of human brain analysis. Her research focuses on microglia, the immune cells of the brain, where she has developed protocols to immunophenotype microglia in humans using markers relating to a specific function allowing us to investigate the role of these cells in different neurological conditions.
  • Her work is located at the junction between clinical neurodegenerative disease, human neuropathology and experimental neuroscience where she has developed an expertise in neuroimmunopathology
