Dr James Minney

Head of Department - Modern Languages and Linguistics, Academic Centre for International Students

Dr James Minney is Head of Department in Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Southampton.

Since graduating from Southampton, James Minney has taught French and German in a wide range of settings. He returned to the University of Southampton in 1995 where he works as a French Language Tutor.

Research interests

His research interests include regional languages in France, in particular Flemish in French Flanders, translation theory and practice, questions of language and identity in wider contexts, and non-standard varieties of French.
