As part of a major research-led University, Modern Languages and Linguistics is an experienced provider of postgraduate studies and is committed to providing resources for a high-quality education.

Modern Languages and Linguistics research covers European Studies, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Latin American Studies with particular focus on film and television, linguistics, literature, culture, society, politics, history, anthropology and transnational studies. We are one of the top research centres in the UK with around 900 full-time and part-time students.

Our cross-disciplinary research agenda means we have close links with English (film studies and transnational communities) and History (cultural memory), as well as links with Social Sciences, particularly in politics.
