About
Elina Meliou is a Professor of Leadership at the University of Southampton Business School, University of Southampton. Her research explores how structural inequalities shape experiences of work, particularly in contexts marked by uncertainty, and the implications for inclusive leadership.
Elina has published extensively in leading journals, including Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Human Relations, Public Administration, Work Employment and Society, Gender, Work and Organization, European Management Review, International Small Business Journal, Public Management, and Equality Diversity and Inclusion, among others. She has co-edited Diversity and Precarious Work During Socio-Economic Upheaval (Cambridge University Press, 2024). She has received funding from UK and European bodies, including the ESRC, British Academy/ Leverhulme Trust, British Academy of Management, Society of Research in Higher Education, and European Social Fund.
Elina serves as an Associate Editor for Human Relations and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the Royal Society of Arts (RSA). Her research has influenced organisational practice and is frequently featured in the media.
