Weight management schemes

A systematic review of the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of long-term weight management schemes for adults is now available.

The report, commissioned by the NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme, is a systematic review of the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of long-term weight management schemes for adults. The study found that long-term multicomponent weight management interventions are likely to be clinically effective and cost-effective in promoting weight loss in overweight or obese adults. However, weight changes were small and weight regain was common. The report is published in the Health Technology Assessment monograph series.
