Introduction to Systematic Reviews in Health

  • virtual course delivered over two mornings via Zoom software
  • interactive systematic review course including practical exercises with a focus on effectiveness reviews
  • ideal for anyone with an understanding of health and related research
  • participants receive a full PDF course pack
  • the principles can be applied to other disciplines (e.g. education, environmental sciences, social sciences)

The course includes:

  • what is a systematic review?
  • scoping the research question & writing a protocol
  • literature searching
  • inclusion/exclusion screening
  • data extraction & critical appraisal
  • data synthesis
  • this course will not cover realist synthesis or qualitative analysis
