New SHTAC Health Economics course in September 2016

Online booking is now available for SHTAC’s Introduction to Health Economics training day on 12th September 2016

SHTAC will be running the training event at Chilworth Manor Hotel, Southampton. The training provides an introduction to the key stages of an economic evaluation, including the basic concepts of health economics, measuring costs and health outcomes and developing and reviewing cost effectiveness analyses. The course is suitable for health professionals and health researchers who want to understand the basics of health economics. No previous knowledge of health economics is required.

SHTAC is a research group within the University of Southampton with expertise in health economics and systematic reviewing. We have been involved in research addressing health care policy questions for the use of drugs, medical devices and intervention and public health promotion for the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the NIHR Health Technology Assessment Research Programme.
