SHTAC are recruiting for a Research Fellow

We are currently recruiting for a Research Fellow in Evidence Synthesis, this post is a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. We are looking for a researcher to join a cohesive research team working on economic evaluations and evidence synthesis to address major policy questions concerning the use of drugs, devices, procedures, diagnostics, public health programmes and other health interventions. You will also work with colleagues on a programme of research on methodological developments related to health technology assessment.

The Southampton Health Technology Assessments Centre (SHTAC) is part of the Wessex Institute, within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton. We are a national centre of excellence and one of nine Technology Assessment Review (TAR) teams commissioned to assess the clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of health technologies for NICE and other national policy customers. Our research portfolio includes evaluations of drugs, medical devices, diagnostics and procedures, and other health and public health programmes. Members of SHTAC have expertise in health economic evaluation and decision modelling, systematic review and evidence synthesis, information science and broader health services research.

If you have the relevant background, this is an opportunity to join a growing team developing an influential research programme. We would expect a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (health technology assessment/epidemiology/public health/health promotion) and/or relevant research experience. You would be encouraged and supported to develop your knowledge, skills and research interests, to publish high quality research reports and papers and to present findings at local, national and international conferences and meetings.
