As part of their MSc programmes our students are required, under the direction of an academic member of staff, to undertake a major piece of research over a four month period (June - September). The student projects generally involve an original piece of research on a topic related to risk and/or uncertainty. The research is often undertaken in conjunction with a commercial or industrial organisation. The final report may include suggestions/recommendations for the organisation involved and will include an analysis of the most relevant and recent published work in the area of risk and/or uncertainty they have explored. Where necessary, those reports which are considered confidential by the commercial or industrial organisation may have their readership limited to the examiners.
