Several students from our MSc Risk Management and MSc Risk & Finance programmes have recently completed their dissertation research projects with industry partners. They helped organisations such as Santander Bank, The Sudanese Water Authority, and National Air Traffic Services (NATS) to identify, evaluate and apply novel methods to better manage risk and uncertainty.
During these industry-led research projects, our students are supported by an academic supervisor from the Centre for Risk Research and by a member of the partner organisation. Over a three-month period, the students apply their specialist knowledge of risk management to tackle a pre-defined project brief developed by the partner.
When the research process is complete, the student provides the partner with a comprehensive written report and an oral presentation to explain their findings and recommendations. This process enables our partner organisations to obtain innovative insights and risk management solutions that help the partner to overcome pressing challenges and obtain real value.
