About
I am Principal Teaching Fellow in Academic Practice in the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP). The remit of my role is to develop education and educators in the HE sector. I am currently Programme Lead for the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice, a professional development programme aimed at early career academics with teaching responsibilities. My activity is largely centred on developing learning and education throguh evaluating teaching practice and through promoting the scholarship of teaching and learning.

- One emerging area of interst for me is the study of the ideologies underpinnig ethics and ethics-related processes. This interest takes a focus on how discourses about ethics influence the development of professionalism in HE.

I champion the values of the UK Professional Standard Framework (AHE) for Learning and Teaching. I also support educators and teachers in their career progression locally, nationally and internationally across the board of disciplines.

Biography
My background is in Humanities. I taught and researched in the area of Early English Literature and Language for several years (2009-2015) before moving to a career in academic development in HE. Alongside teaching UG/PG in humanities subjects, I have held faculty support roles since 2009. In this capacity, I created and obtained funding for cross-sector partnership programmes focused on raising awareness for languages, particularly in the area of employability. From 2011-2016, I developed and supported two national networks for promoting language-based professions such as interpreting and translation. This endeavour implied liasing with HEIs nation-wide and representatives from EU insitutions.
