Heather Chamberlain is an Enterprise Fellow in the School of Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton.

Heather has a background in GIS and remote sensing. She received a BSc in Geography and MSc in Applied GIS and Remote Sensing from the University of Southampton. Heather is now part of the WorldPop Project and her work focusses on integrating geospatial datasets for population estimation and high resolution mapping.

The WorldPop Project

High resolution, contemporary data on human population distributions are a prerequisite for the accurate measurement of the impacts of population growth, for monitoring changes and for planning interventions. The WorldPop project aims to meet these needs through the provision of detailed and open access population distribution datasets built using transparent approaches.
