Dr Anna Hickman is Lecturer within Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre Southampton at the University of Southampton.
I study some of the smallest photosynthesizing organisms on Earth. Though microscopic in size, phytoplankton form the base of the marine food web and play a crucial role in the global carbon cycle
