Current research
Reflecting a paramount interest in organisational change and professional work, Jackie's research draws on the methods and theoretical perspectives of the social sciences. Her research focuses on health care systems and workforce, particularly nursing, examining the organisational conditions in which health workers are able to deliver responsive, high quality care to older people with complex needs.

Biography
Professor Bridges' programme of work focuses on the organisation and delivery of health care to older people with complex needs. She leads a major programme of research focused on professional work and organisational change related to older people's care, and steers the development and delivery of associated educational provision within the School of Health Sciences. Jackie leads Ageing and Dementia research in the School and in NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Wessex. She is also National Lead for Ageing and Dementia, NIHR ARCs.
