Information for returning students

As you prepare to return to teaching this academic year, we wanted to put together some helpful information to help you settle back into your studies.

Welcoming you back to our campuses and the City

Whether you’ve been based in Southampton or Winchester over the summer, returning after a while away, or coming for the first time, we wanted to provide you with some key information to help you get familiar with campus life.

Each of our campuses have study spaces, libraries, cafes and restaurants and some also have gym and sports facilities. No matter which campus your course is based at, you can use the facilities at any campus.

Managing your IT account

It is important to ensure that you’re able to sign into your University IT account before the start of the academic year. If you need to reset your password or manage any of your IT account settings, you can do so by using Subscribe, our self-service IT area.

Additional security for your University IT account

This academic year, you’ll need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your University IT account. The University takes data security seriously, and this is one of the steps we’re taking to ensure your data is secure.

Returning students will be prompted to set up MFA during September and October 2021. Once prompted, you’ll have 14 days to set up MFA, or you will be locked out of your IT account. To unlock your account, you will need to contact ServiceLine for assistance so remember to set up MFA before this happens.

Need IT help?

Don’t struggle with your IT; even if it’s something small, the team is here to help. If you need support, contact ServiceLine.
