Accommodation for Clearing students

If you're applying through Clearing and submit your accommodation application by 5pm on 17 August, you will be guaranteed a place in accommodation. T&Cs apply. You can still apply after this deadline if we have spaces left in our halls, but we will not be able to guarantee you a place.

If you previously applied for accommodation before accepting a place through Clearing, you don't need to reapply. Your original application will be processed in line with any guarantee that was in place at the time you submitted it.

How to apply

Before you can apply for accommodation, you must have accepted your Clearing offer in UCAS Hub and received your confirmation email from the University. In this email you'll get your Southampton ID number, which you'll need for your application.

You can learn more about the Clearing application process and what you need to do before applying for accommodation on our page about how Clearing works.

Before you apply, you'll need to choose the halls and room types you want to select. We have halls across both Southampton and Winchester, and if you're applying through Clearing you also have exclusive access to 3 private halls with special rates:

  • Capital House
  • Lucia Foster Welch
  • Southampton Crossings

To apply for a place in our halls or a special rates private hall, find the halls and room types you want to select on our halls page and follow the application instructions provided.
