Who can apply for Clearing and Adjustment

Clearing and Adjustment give applicants an opportunity to apply for an undergraduate course at the University of Southampton if:

  • they have not yet applied
  • they’ve achieved higher grades than expected
  • their exam results are not as good as predicted

How to make an application

When an applicant is ready to apply, they can complete our application form. A member of the team will be in touch.

If you’re applying on behalf of an applicant, you’ll need to make sure you enter their details in the name fields. You can also include their 10 digit UCAS identification number, if they have one.

If your applicant does not hold an offer in UCAS Track, we can make an application decision within 24 hours, between Monday and Friday.

Phone lines are currently open from 8am to 6pm UK time, Monday to Friday with extra availability at peak times.

Our extended opening hours are shown in UK time:

  • Saturday 24 July: 6am to 1pm
  • Tuesday 10 August: 8:30am to 10pm
  • Wednesday 11 August to Friday 13 August: 6am to 10pm
