Clearing for international agents

On this page you'll find information about the UK university Clearing process, including:

  • making an application
  • tagging an application
  • contacting us

Clearing 2026 is now open. On this page you can find useful information about the Clearing process for international agents.

Making an application

The quickest and most effective way to apply is by using our online Clearing application form. This allows our admissions team to assess applications promptly.

If your students grades are slightly below the requirements for their chosen course, we may still be able to accept their application, as we can be more flexible on some courses.

You can contact our admissions team if you have any queries or need help with your application by emailing them through admissions@southampton.ac.uk or phoning through +44 (0)23 8059 4732.

We'll be opening our Clearing hotline 8am on Thursday 13 August 2026, but we still recommend using the application form wherever possible. Our hotline number will be +44 (0)3300 586940.

To ensure a smooth application process:

  • prepare all applicant documents in advance
  • do not submit duplicate applications for the same student and course, as this can cause delays
  • if the applicant is interested in multiple courses, you can add up to 3 courses per application

If you plan to call the Clearing hotline on or around A level results day, make sure the applicant has first emailed us confirming you're authorised to act on their behalf.

If we can offer a place, you'll need to log the application through UCAS. We'll advise you on how to do this, and what documents you'll need to include.

We cannot make conditional offers through Clearing.
