Taught Degrees

The taught part of all programmes consists of a mixture of core and optional modules, combining empirical and theoretical material, and ranging in coverage from consideration of broad macro-social processes such as modernisation, globalisation and individualisation to more intensive studies of particular social and policy issues such as the role of religion in society, welfare state retrenchment and multiculturalism. For most programmes, a Diploma may be awarded on successful completion of the taught elements, whereas an MSc will be awarded on the successful submission of a dissertation. All of our taught postgraduate programmes can be studied full or part time.
