Geography and Environmental Science at Southampton is one of Britain's leading centres for geographical research, with excellent facilities, a strong publication record, and a thriving research culture.

The school currently offers two PhD programmes: PhD in Geography (covering both human and physical geography, remote sensing, GIS etc.) and a PhD in Environmental Science.

For a PhD in Environmental Science, the lead supervisor must be based in the Centre for Environmental Science (which sits within the School of Geography and Environmental Science).

Both of these programmes are available full-time (maximum 4 years duration) and part-time (maximum 7 years duration).
