Overview
FIDERH is the federal trust managed by the Central Bank of Mexico. It provides affordable loans to help Mexican students pay for their postgraduate studies.
If you receive a FIDERH scholarship, you will receive a 20% tuition fee discount for an eligible postgraduate programme at the University of Southampton.
This award is available for full-time, 1-year taught master's programmes and for the first 3 years (36 months) of a full-time postgraduate research degree in the following Faculties:
- Faculty of Arts and Humanities
- Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences (excluding Health Sciences)
- Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences
- Faculty of Social Sciences

Eligibility
To get this scholarship you must:
- be an international student from Mexico required to pay the oversees fees
- have an offer to study an eligible postgraduate taught programme or PhD study
- receive a FIDERH loan
Permanent residency
Permanent residency
We consider your permanent residency to be where you have lived for 3 or more years before the start of the course.
This does not include where you have been living solely for study purposes if it is different from your permanent place of residency.
