Current research

My research is focused on the application of artificial intelligence to help solve complex social and cultural problems. I am currently using multiple datasets such as remotely sensed and geophysical data as well as environmental information to detect submerged shipwrecks. Additionaly, I am applying computer vision and image processing techniques combined with deep learning, convolutional neural networks to automatically identify and classify human-made islets, also known as Crannogs. Finally, I am working on the study of global decommissioning practices of offshore structures including vessels, oil rigs and wind turbines, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
