Successful collaboration with Zurich Insurance

The Centre for Risk Research has been actively engaging with Zurich Insurance Group on a number of research and education initiatives over the last two years.

Most recently, four representatives from Zurich, including Southampton Business School (SBS) alumnus Serenus Stadler, visited on 19 October to support SBS’s drive to further improve employment prospects for our graduates.

The Zurich representatives gave a presentation on opportunities within the group, and then offered mock interviews to 24 undergraduates. They also ran a drop-in CV clinic for our students.

Professor Ming Chien Sung, Deputy Director of the Centre for Risk Research welcomed the very positive feedback from the event: “Attendees were mostly Year 2 students on a degree with a placement year. Zurich were very impressed by their strong interview skills and by how well they had developed their CVs. Zurich are now considering developing a placements programme”.

Rob Jack, the Faculty Placement Advisor was “Delighted with the outcome and very happy to be collaborating with academic colleagues in support of our student’s employability. Many thanks to the Centre for Risk Research team for making these strong connections with a locally-based, internationally renowned employer”.
