The Centre for Risk Research (CRR) has recently announced that it is organising a special risk research workshop. The aim of the workshop is to bring together staff and post-graduate researchers from all disciplines across the University of Southampton who share an interest in risk research. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with one another, showcase their work, learn about forthcoming funding opportunities, and create new synergies and collaborations.

The workshop is currently scheduled as an in-person event for 6th July 2022 and the organiser’s, Dr Yaniv Hanoch and Dr Ian Dawson of the CRR, anticipate that it will include speed networking, presentations from external funding agencies (e.g., ESRC), and the option of presenting a poster about risk research. More details about the event will be available later in 2022, but staff and post-graduate researchers who are interested in attending can already book a place at the event via the StaffBook website.

Dr Ian Dawson, the Director of the Centre for Risk Research commented, “This event will provide a fantastic opportunity for researchers from across the university to get to know one another better, find out more about each other’s activities and to identify potential ways to collaborate on new projects. Everyone with an interest (no matter how big or small) in risk is welcome. We hope this event will be the catalyst for many important and insightful interdisciplinary research projects that, ultimately, help society to better understand and manage risk.”
